Is This the New Bipartisanship?

President Barack Obama trekked over to Capitol Hill in an effort to win GOP support for his economic stimulus plan. Do you think we are in a new era of bipartisanship? If we are, how long do you think it will last?

Well so far, even though he seems to wish it, President Obama has not been successful in his bipartisan plans. The stimulus bill was passed with out one Yea vote from a Republican! Thats not bipartisan. Do I think we have entered a new era of bipartisanship? No, it's going to stay the same as it always has been. Unless there is another 9/11, or an actual war(as in one definitive country against the US)the two sides of politics will grab for the power with little concern for the American people.

No, i dont think we are in a new era of bipartisanship. Like Future Pilot said, unless something huge like 9/11 happens again, nothing is going to change.

Politicians are bitter. Often if their party isn't the majority, the main result is bickering and the attempt to make the opponent look bad.

I believe Obama truly wants a bipartisan government, but I'm not too convinced it will occur. Right now, Obama and his party in power left a sour bunch of republicans. The only way I see bipartisanship is if there whatever the situation may be, both parties come out on top looking good.
