Marketing the Firsts Daughters Sasha and Malia

Is this unfair exploitation of the young girls, aged 7 and 10? Or does this go with the territory? Michelle Obama says marketing a pair of dolls with her daughters' names is inappropriate. Do you agree with the First Lady?

These girls are so young, they aren't always going to be in the spotlight for long, just for this week or so. I think it's extremly inappropriate and a waste of money to make dolls. These girls aren't in movies, don't sing songs and the only reason they are semi famous is cause their dad is the president. Bush's daughters never had a doll made for them, why start now?

I agree i think its pretty lame to make these dolls. Its a waste of time and money. They are probably exposed enough as it is being the daughters of the president. And seriously, what kid is going to want to play with a Sasha and Malia doll? I wouldnt...

Come on Dawg,
How can you forget your good ol' days playing with "action figures"

Well if they sell it wont be a waste of time. If they dont, the company will learn a lesson. CAPITOLISM...its a good thing!

I think they should have at least asked for permission first. Oh and about that story that its just a coincidence? Im sure it was......not!

There are already Barack and Michelle Obama dolls. Someone had to complete the set. I agree with Pilot that without permission, this is exploitation, but is it unfair? Nope. People are taking advantage of this opportunity to make $$.

These young girls are part of the "first family"-- the first "black first family". That's historic! Revolutionary history tends to make people famous.

It would be ignorant to believe this exploitation did not go with the territory. These girls are not private citizens anymore, just as movie stars and singers.

As a mother, it should be a concern of hers. I agree it's inappropriate because there are sick individuals out there.

Bottom Line: Unfair? No. Go with the territory? Yes. Inappropriate? Depends on who gets their hands on the dolls. Do I agree with 'chelle? Yes.
