Yay or Nay on the Stimulus?

If you were a member of Congress, would you vote for it or against it?

Did President Obama's first-prime time news conference help you in your decision? How was the conference different from previous news conferences? What issue did you find most interesting?

Personally, if i were a member of congress i would vote against it. There is too much going on with it. It was originally like one page, now its 800 some pages. People saying "ill vote for it if you do this or that" and there is just too much fat being added on to the plan. I do think that something needs to be done, but this particular plan is not it.

First off, the news conference, which I did watch (it was on before 24)didnt say much at all. The Great Obama is the same as any other politician, he speaks politician. He beat around the bush at every question. So I guess the conference just confermed my theory. Obama is not divine, he is not the greatest thing since sliced bread, he is a politician plain and simple.

Anyway, I would vote Nay on this stimulus, in a heartbeat. Now before I get beat up because of it, hear me out. Half, maybe more than half, of this bill wont even be spent this year. Think about it!
The Republicans are getting yelled at for making us wait a month for the bill to pass, but the bill itself is going to make us wait for a year? Does that make sense? We need a fix now! Not a year from now, NOW!

Nay! Everyone is talking about how much money the government is spending, but very little attention is being paid to where they are spending it or what they are buying with it.The government is putting money into banks, even when the banks don't want it, in hopes that the banks will put it into circulation.

I would vote yay on it. Have people seen the state our conutry is in. The government needs to take action and help. So what if this won't solve everything. If there is any chance of it helping at all it should be passed.

So would you pay millions for a bandaid? This makes no sense!

Doe Boy is dead on. I do not like the idea of trying to stimulate the economy in this way.

Try to stimulate it by making important purchases easier to make--easier to receive loans, to buy cars and houses.

Another great way is to directly effect the citizens is to cut taxes. That money not spent stays in the pockets of the citizen for whatever they see fit. It also keeps the government from being a "bank".
