The Obama Administration will rule on the fate of the struggling American automakers. Do you think the additional billions will make a difference? Or should we declare the American auto industry "dead" and move on?
What about home foreclosures? Stay tune!
Barbie turns 50! Wow! Why does this doll continue to be so popular? Why is she an American icon?

Ok personally i do not believe we should completly for get about the auto industry but it is virtually dead. I think the days of the auto industries having the company to themselves is over. The only way they can get it going again is if they merge with other auto companies. So giving all these auto industries money isnt going to do anything. They are not selling cars and thats the problem. They need to merge!
I disagree with the idea of giving of billions of additional bailout funds. Wasn't the original amount supposed to satisfy their needs?
The only way I could see the government legitimately stimulating the auto industry would be by using principles of the spoils system. -Give tax breaks to those who buy vehicles in the Auto Industry's time of need. -Other "spoils" could be creating incentives for lenders and borrowers of auto loans.
We don't declare the auto industry dead, the auto industry does. If they manage their business right, they can survive--without government help. If these auto companies are mismanaged, they will fail--even with the government's monetary support.
I've already discussed home foreclosures in class, but if you missed it, here's a little bit... Shelter is a basic need for survival. Support should go to those who are truly struggling to keep their homes. Not the home "flippers", those mooching off of the government, or those blatantly living outside of their financial means. If there is an individual having issues with negative equity or other home financial commitments, refinance, it happens every day.
i think giving the money to the auto industries is a good idea. even though they are practically dead, if they still have some life left, the money is going to help bring them back. merger would be a safer option, but i dont think that is actually going to ever happen...
and about barbie... shes a babe thats why shes still around
