I believe Barack Obama will become the next president of the United States. What will win this election for Obama is the historical significance of an African-American president leading to a great voter turnout. More people of younger ages, mainly students that are generally liberal will vote. The main group of voters behind him will be black voters. In class, we discuss that race will impact the election, we mostly foresee a negative impact for Obama. I see race to effect Obama in a positive manner. One radio show I often listen to, The Tom Leykis Show, asked for the black community to respond to the question, "You're black, what do you think of Barack Obama?" The main responses were that he's a role model for black youth, he's an intelligent man and also it's time for a black man to be in office. According to the Oct. 20th issue of TIME Magazine, 97% of black voters back Obama. He is backed by a strong group of voters, this will lead Barack Obama to the presidential office in 2008.
Obama is going to win. McCain started off with many supporters but the second he brought out Palin things started going downhill for him. In many of the debates McCain jumped around the issues to make personal attacks on Obama. While he was doing this Obama was gaining more supporters by actually addressing the issues, like he was supposed to. If Obama doesn't win I don't know what to say. He is by far the best candidate for the job.
Ted - I think John McCain will win the election. The "Bradley Effect" will make a big impact, because i believe that a lot of people that said they were voting for Barack Obama will change their minds once they get into the voting booth.
I can't really say who is going to win. Back in 1980 or 84 everybody said the race was neck and neck yet Reagan won by a landslide. So polls don't account for much. If I had to pick, I would say that Obama, sadly, is going to win.
I agree with Ted. I think the "Bradley Effect" will hurt Obama. Though what Chris said about 97% of the black voters support Obama is true, statistically a lower percent of black people vote in presidential elctions, though there is always the chance that more will vote now that there is a black candidate. Overall, I think McCain wins largely due to race and because some people do actually love Palin.
I believe Obama will win only because like chris said it's the fact that many people believe they are helping to make history. In this election i dont believe that the "bradly effect" will make an impact as much as everyone believes it will.
i am personally a Mccain fan but i beleive that Obama will win this one. we need for him to win for many different purposes. its time for the republicans to just give it to the democrats. Obama will make history on the fourth
