Torture

Has there been a shift in the torture investigation?
Is the president now open to prosecution of Bush administration officials?

A select committee is investigating.
What did the "gang of 8" know about the interrogation techniques used by the Bush administration? Are they to blame too?

Cheney claims that the harsh tactics worked. What tactics? Let the public decide.
Wait, weren't all the tapes were destroyed?

Justice Department - Rule of Law -

Is the administration compelled to release the information? Is the president just obeying the law?

Should the White House fight the law suit? Do we really need to know?
Didn't President Obama say he just wanted to change the policy?

Is this what his administration means by transparnecy?

There's definitely been a shift in the torture investigation. Obama once said, "the past is the past", but now he's digging it up. Obama is open to investigating the torture, but, from what I've heard, he's leaving the decision on whether or not to investigate on Eric Holder.

The "gang of 8" must've known all about the torture if they ordered it. Are they to blame? I saw yes.

Cheney is supposed to release intel on what was learned because of the tactics.

From what I've heard, the tapes have been destroyed, but still, everyone knows it happened. Also, there must be more evidence than just the tapes.

...too any questions...i'm done...

I definealtely think that there has been a shift. What is Obama really trying to prove. He already shut down Guantamino Bay. Likes milks said he stated earlier let the past be in the past. So what is he really trying to do. Make someone else look bad to take the attention off of him and make him look better and more just??

And i do believe that the harsh tactics worked. Those tactics are neccesary sometimes and especially in times of war. Especially when other countries televise beheadings, and now they say we are inhumane. We should be more focused on what they are doing to our prisoners. And asking the public would get no where at all. There are so many "liberals" out there that will go crazy about, for an example look at PETA and their extreme views.

I don't believe that they will ever get all the evidence, but also like milks said do we really need it?

The Bush administration should not be prosecuted. They did nothing but their job and what they thought neccesary to keep our country safe. I think that Obama is a fool and will ultimately fail in foreign relations because he thinks that everyone should just love everyone, when in reallity it doesn't just happen without some ind of fight, history has proven that over and over again.

And thats pretty much my opinion as of right now =)

Hey Chips what makes you think that the "gang of 8" were told everything? They weren't allowed to take notes either. Remember how secretive everything was?

boo!

They may not've been told everything, but they had a large role in this "torture". It doesn't matter how secretive administrations may've been, the secrets come out. Look @ Nixon for example...
