Pirates! It's not like the movies.

Another American ship, the Liberty Sun, a cargo ship carrying food aid to various African nations was attacked. The ship was damaged but not captured. Do you think the Obama Administration is doing enough to stop piracy on the high seas?

Should we continue as always and pay the ransom or should we just arm all the ships?

If we pay the ransom that will only ecourage them to keep doing it because thats what they want. We are the United States and we should not have this problem. we need to do a sting operation and teach them a lesson along with protecting our ships by arming them better as well.

I don't say arm all the ships or pay the ransom. Our Navy has ships stationed all around the world. If one of our unarmed ships need help from an armed ship, we have the Navy or other military branches present.

I think we should just arm the ships. Like phil said if we keep paying the ransom then the pirates are going to keep doing this to get money. I think if the pirates are caught in action then we should have the right to blow them away.

ARM THE SHIPS. the pirates will be motivated to do it if we keep paying the ransom. Thats what they want. The Obama Administration clearly is not doing enough to put a stop to the piracy. But if they take action and arm all of the ships, it will definitely scare off most of the pirates and greatly contribute to solving the problem in my opinion

How is it the Obama administrations job to protect the assets of private companies anyway? If our ships are in trouble yes the Navy will help, but its up to the individual companies to arm thier own ships.
