Are intangible achievements worthy of such an esteemed award? Or has the ligitimacy of this award gone down the drain?
The nobel committee said of Obama that "only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future."

Obama deserves NOTHING! What has he done to recieve this!?!? He PLANS on doing things but hasnt actually accomplished anything!
You dont get the literature award for planning on writing a book. You get it for the finished product.
I dont think that he deserves this at all. It's absolutely ridiculous and whoever thinks it was right that he recieved this is a clown.

I agree with what the committee said. He has given us hope for a better a future, but that does not mean that Obama deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. I am truly happy that he won it, but I am not entirely sure he should have. Yes he is a great president (in my opinion) and I believe he will do great things but, he has not done enough to win such a prestigious prize. He has taken action and done stuff but not enough to win. I agree that he has plans, but has not acted on them entirely. I am sure there were other more deserving candidates.

so far he hasn't DONE anything, but that's not the reason they've given him the award is it?
They've given it to him for the IDEA that things are going to be okay and giving people hope. So okay, you could say he was the role model for a more positive outlook on life, for people in the United States, and even globally.
I do not agree with all of the decisions he has made, the things he has said, or the actions he has done. I don't even like him...but the world does need to think more positively. Negative thinking doesn't help anyone, and thought about that way...well maybe he does deserve this award.

Well if we are giving the nobel peace prize out for things we say we are going to do then I guess, I'm going to stop global hunger. Oh looks like I deserve the nobel peace prize, it is garbage give to someone who has DONE somthing. "Change" I've heard thats the only thing that will be in our pockets after the Obama Admin. is done with us.
From someone who knows thinking positively actually helps then yes he would deserve it.
